8 Things You Can Do This BCA Month!

So you’ve been spamming your followers with the hashtag #AwareWithPink on social media (please do – 25¢ goes to the non-profit Bright Pink, each time the hashtag is used) and perhaps, you’ve shown your support by purchasing Trekz Titanium Pink (thank you for doing so – 25% of proceeds go to Bright Pink)...now what?

Well, as Bright Pink would say, when it comes to spreading awareness and education on breast and ovarian cancer, we’re #NotDoneYet! Here are 8 simple things you can do this BCA month to show your support.

1. First things first – educate yo’self!

As scary as the stats may be, they exist for a reason. It’s important to know what symptoms to look for in both breast and ovarian cancer as well as, what actions you can take to lower your risk. If you want to take a deep dive into educating yourself on breast and/or ovarian cancer, this is a great place to start!

2. If you haven’t already – assess your personal risk!

Hop on over to Bright Pink's website & take their risk assessment tool (it takes 5 minutes to complete!). Be sure to also know your family history and how that can play a part in your risk for developing breast and/or ovarian cancer, this form can help!

3. Get proactive!

Now that you’ve done your research, it’s time to practice what you’ve learned! Let’s kick cancer’s butt and be proactive together! A great place to start is by scheduling your annual well woman exam – have you had yours this year?

4. Know how to lower your risk!

It's no secret that adapting a healthy lifestyle can reduce your risk for developing breast and ovarian cancer! We know it’s easier said than done, so be sure to ask a friend to join you in getting #AwareWithPink!

5. Run for #BCA month!

Sign up for a race that supports #BCA month! It could donate to a non-profit such as Bright Pink, or it could go towards funding breast and/or ovarian cancer research. Either way, we think it’s a fun way to get involved!

6. Spread awareness everywhere you go!

We’re all about spreading breast and ovarian cancer awareness, wherever & whenever we can! One way to do this is to commit to wearing pink once a week (or every day) during the month of October.

7. Shop to support!

While Trekz Titanium Pink is our favorite when it comes to products that support Bright Pink, it is certainly not the only product that does so! For your convenience, here is a full list of products that are supporting Bright Pink this month. We're personally obsessed with the choose your MOOD wrap bracelet by Life Therapy!

8. It's time to share your knowledge with others!

We're so proud of you for being #AwareWithPink! Now it's time to share your newfound knowledge (or, years of research or experience) with someone you love. Encourage your family members, friends, co-workers, and even your social media followers to join you in being #AwareWithPink!

What does being #AwareWithPink mean exactly? It starts with you but it could be the act of encouraging others to perform a self exam or schedule a doctor’s appointment. Or, it could be sharing something you've learned about breast and/or ovarian cancer that you didn’t know before! Whatever it may be, we encourage you to spread your knowledge like wildfire – it may just change someone's life.
