Technology plays a key role in all of our lives, nearly all the time. Sometimes that role is vital. And sometimes, sadly, it falls short. This happened recently to a dear friend and fan, Mike May, whose son went missing while skiing last month — and though traditional SAR (search and rescue) methods were impressive, they ultimately were not enough to find Carson. Unfortunately, several technologies could not be deployed quickly because of privacy limitations, jurisdictional issues and lack of prompt availability. In his son’s memoriam, Mike is on a mission to provide new technology solutions early on in a search to help improve chances of recovery.
